Ashdod port acts against union

The Ashdod Port Authority has requested an urgent injunction from the Beersheba Labor Court to disqualify two union members from the tender committee for the recruitment of longshoremen because of conflicts of interest.

The Ashdod Port Authority has requested an urgent injunction from the Beersheba Labor Court to disqualify two union members from the tender committee for the recruitment of longshoremen because of conflicts of interest. Following press reports at the beginning of the month, the Ashdod Port Authority found that there were irregularities in the tender process including preferential treatment and support provided to longshoremen applicants related to workers' representatives.
