The Histadrut Labor Organization announced on Tuesday that its 2008 budget will be NIS 403 million, the first time since 1995 that the organization will not be faced with a budget deficit. The 2008 budget is some 4.5 percent larger than this year's NIS 385m.
The increase comes as a result of increased income from its members, which this year topped NIS 400m., according to the Histadrut.
The increases in the budget will go primarily toward improving working conditions among member unions and to the organization's youth division.
