Turkel Committee requests further information from IDF

Flotilla probe asks its IDF counterpart, the Eiland Committee, for electronic materials and documentation about IHH activists.

The Turkel Commission investigating the Gaza flotilla requested on Tuesday that IDF chief of staff's assistant, Colonel Erez Weiner, give the court further information.
The committee requested further documentation about the IHH activists on the Mavi Marmara from the Eiland Commission, the IDF probe of the incident.

The committee, headed by retired High Court judge Yaakov Turkel, asked for electronic and other materials that the Maj.-Gen. (Res.) Giora Eiland's committee analyzed when investigating the military aspect of the Gaza flotilla raid.
The Turkel Committee also asked for explanations of the soldiers' behavior on the ship, and answers to additional questions that the Eiland Commission did not probe.
Next week, head of the National Security Council, Uzi Arad, is expected to testify before the committee, as well as head of the Mossad Meir Dagan. Foreign Ministry Director-General Yossi Gal will testify on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Ehud Olmert, and IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi have previously testified before the Turkel Commission.
