Israeli security forces neutralized an ISIS cell in Jericho planning to carry out an attack, according to a Tuesday IDF statement. The terrorists were arrested and transferred to the Shin Bet for questioning, according to the military.
The IDF also found a weapons cache belonging to Hamas’s Rafah brigade during operational activity in the area of the Yellow Line in southern Gaza on Monday, it announced.
The military said it had found “a large amount of guns, an RPG rocket, and an explosive device that were going to be used to harm IDF soldiers operating in the area.”
The statement noted that the IDF would continue working to eliminate terrorists and dismantle terrorist infrastructures in the southern Gaza Strip in accordance with the Israel-Hamas ceasefire agreement.
IDF: Terrorist killed in northern Gaza
Moreover, on Tuesday morning, the IDF said that troops operating in northern Gaza identified a terrorist who crossed the Yellow Line and posed an imminent threat.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out a strike and killed the individual, the IDF reported.
IDF demolishes home in West Bank village over permit violation
Additionally, on Tuesday morning, the IDF reportedly began demolishing a home in the village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, west of Salfit, in the West Bank, according to reports from Palestinian media. [The site of Qarawat Bani Hassan was identified in 1986 as Qerutim, a Second Temple-era village renowned for its wine production, by archaeologist Shimon Dar.]
According to the Palestinian-run WAFA news agency, the house was demolished by the IDF because it did not have a valid building permit. The IDF has yet to release a statement on the demolition.
