The advocates of two-state solution should realize it cannot be possible without settlements

Prime-Minister of Israel Netanyahu is accused for changing his mind – before he was against the two-state solution, now he is for this solution.

Those accusations are groundless – Netanyahu is interested not in “a solution” – he is interested in the true security of Israel. He may accept any solution if it brings the true security for the state of Israel and its citizens. So the question we should be asking is “can the two-state solution bring the true security for Israel”.

The true security has two major components. One of them is physical security that is the living in peace with the neighbors. The other one is spiritual security, and the spiritual security for many Jews is to live and worship peacefully in all places of the Promised Land even if parts of the Promised Land are governed by a non-Jewish authority. So the answer to the question “can the two-state solution bring the true security for Israel” is – may be if the Palestinians, the Arabs and the so-called international community reverse their approach on the Jewish settlements in the territories of a Palestinian part of the two-state solution.

The history has proven, and has proven with no uncertainty, when a country or a community is trying to get rid of Jews living among them it spells pogroms – from little ones like the desecration of everything Jewish to large ones like “broken windows” or “holocausts”.

After the WWII, Stalin purged the Jews from all leadership positions in the Former Soviet Union – it ended up in a sort of spiritual holocaust (everything related to Jewish tradition and religion was forbidden) and in almost physical holocaust if not for the Stalin’s death (railroad trains were ready to transport all Jews to the inhabitable Russian Far East).

When the Jews in the 18-19th century were not allowed to live among the “natives” in Europe it was followed by pogroms especially in Eastern Europe.

Hitler’s expelling of the Jews from the so called “Arian community” brought the “final solution” that is the mass murdering of the Jews.

The 7th century expulsion and murder of the Jews in communities of Mecca and Medina by the founder of Islam Mohammad ended up with the Koran prescribing the killing of the Jews everywhere else as the chief enemies of Allah.

The history is full with analogous stories.

Therefore if the international community is successful in expelling the Jews from the settlements, a Palestinian state in the two-state solution would inevitably become a staging place for the assault on Israel and Israeli Jews. These days the international community is increasing their collective assault on Likud and Netanyahu on the eve of Israeli elections in hope that conservatives would be replaced by the progressives who would help to reinforce the “no Jews are allowed” in a Palestinian state thought the ban on the settlements.

If that is not what is in the mind of the international community (as is in the mind of Fattah, Hamas, Hezbollah), the international community has to spell it clearly. Unfortunately that is not the case.

The same is true for the Jewish “progressive” advocates of the two-state solution. If they want the true security for Israel they have to support any Jewish presence as citizens in a Palestinian state, including the Jewish settlements, with equal civil rights and government protection.

If the international community and the progressives don’t agree with the provisions for the true Israel’s security that may mean they accept the possibility for a Palestinian state to become a staging place for assault on Israel and the Jews.

In the long Jewish history the Jews can now defend themselves in their own powerful independent state. That is up to them to do this, or rely on the others who called themselves the international community – with all coming consequences described in the history.
