The start-up company Salignostics from Jerusalem is launching Salistick in Israel - the world's first pregnancy test based on a saliva sample.

The test is launched in Israel, alongside an extensive launch of Salistick in the second half of 2023 in England, Ireland and Sweden, which received enthusiastic responses.

The test is marketed in Israel in about 285 Super-Pharm and Super-Pharm online branches, at a special launch price of 24.90 NIS (the price will be updated later to 33.90).

Salistick is an innovative and groundbreaking pregnancy test in a field that until now was based on urine tests only. It is easy to use, more pleasant compared to the traditional pregnancy tests, and has high accuracy from the day after the missed period. Salistick is based on a rock sample, which is easily and aesthetically collected using a "stick". It can be performed simply and comfortably, anywhere and at any time, and with whoever you want - your spouse, or any other person.

The test provides a better user experience, without compromise - its level of accuracy and reliability already starting from the delay in the estimated menstruation date, and similar to traditional pregnancy tests performed using a urine sample. The test received the approval of the Ministry of Health in Israel and also the approval of the European Union (CE).

Salignostics manufactures its products in a factory established by the company in the Lavon industrial area in the Galilee. Despite the difficulties involved in wartime, the company continued its activities, including the production and launch of a cellistic product as part of the forefront of Israeli technology companies.

Dr. Guy Krief, co-founder and deputy CEO of Salignostics : "We did market research among diverse populations, and found that about 70% of women would prefer to take a saliva pregnancy test over a traditional urine test. Pregnancy testing is now becoming a simple and easy operation, and it is of course Trusted in its results.

The world of diagnostics is advancing rapidly. It is becoming more and more accessible, personal and at home, and our innovative and ground-breaking products fit well into this trend.

We offer a "miniature laboratory" integrated into products that are simple to operate, that do not require mixing with chemical solutions or other complex operations. Our vision is to come out with more and more friendly and accessible products." Salistick presenter is the influencer Alina Levy, whose starring campaign will appear in the various media.

The global market for pregnancy tests was estimated at 1.7 billion dollars in 2022. It is expected to grow to approximately $2.3 billion by 2028, with an annual growth rate of approximately 5%*.

In Israel, the market for pregnancy tests was estimated in 2022 at about NIS 20 million, with approximately one million pregnancy tests being sold in Israel every year.
