50 Taliban fighters killed in Afghanistan air strike

About 50 Taliban fighters were killed in a NATO air strike in western Afghanistan, according to statements made Sunday by a spokesman for the Afghan army. Local police reported that a woman and her teenage child were also killed as a result of an airstrike on a residential building. The airstrike culminated a three-hour-long battle took place Saturday in the western province of Farah after a complex attack that killed three Americans and seven Afghan troops, said Afghan army spokesman Maj.
