Biden authorizes additional disaster assistance for Hawaii after wildfires

US President Joe Biden on Friday authorized additional federal support for Hawaii in the wake of deadly wildfires that devastated the state this month, according to a statement from the White House.

Federal funds for debris removal and emergency protective measures has been increased to "100% of the total eligible costs for a continuous 30-day period of the State’s choosing within the first 120 days from the start of the incident period," according to the statement.
