Better Place, Sonol sign deal

Electric-car infrastructure operator Better Place announced Tuesday it has signed an agreement with Sonol to put battery switch stations at some of its gas stations. Sonol, the country’s second-largest gas-station company, operates 230 stations nationwide.

Better Place is setting up a system of charge points and battery switch stations in preparation for introducing the electric car later this year. The Renault Fluence has been designed to take advantage of the battery switch points, housing the battery in the floor of the car so it can be replaced easily.
