Blair urges Lebanese to cancel flotilla to Gaza

Quartet Representative Tony Blair urged the Lebanese flotilla intent on heading towards Gaza this weekend to reconsider their journey on Friday.
"I urge the Lebanese aid ship to reconsider its intention to set sail to the Gaza shores to deliver aid to the people. As the UN Under-Secretary General said yesterday, such convoys are not helpful, do not resolve the economic difficulties in Gaza and carry the risk of escalation needlessly, said Blair.
He added, "There are now established channels for delivering aid and other goods to Gaza, in line with the new policy which we have worked on for several weeks. The organizers should take advantage of these channels to transfer the goods to Gaza.”
