British Foreign Secretary phones Livni about UK arrest law

In a telephone conversation with Kadima chairwoman Tzipi Livni, Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague conveyed the British government's desire and dedication to amend a UK law which allows the filing of arrest warrants of Israeli government officials for war crimes by any British civilian.
Hague expressed his intention to bring forth the amendment to the British Parliament this coming fall, which would allow the two officials to hold future meetings in Britain.
Livni praised Britain for its efforts, decribing the situation as "absurd" when Israelis who serve as government officials or officers in the IDF are limited in their international movement.
Livni hoped that the amendment would make a clear recognition between individuals who fight terror and protect their country and those who commit war crimes.
The two planned on meeting in the future, in Israel and hopefully Britain as well.
