Central Election C'tee disqualifies Koolanu's No. 3, Tsega Melaku, from running in election

Central Elections Committee chairman, Judge Salim Joubran ruled Monday that journalist Tsega Melaku, who had been third on Moshe Kahlon's Koolanu list, is not eligible to run in elections for the twentieth Knesset.
Joubran ruled that Melaku, who served as a manager at the Israel Broadcast Authority, did not resign from her government post a sufficient amount of time prior to the March 17 election.
Koolanu had argued that Melaku's position at the IBA was not senior enough to be governed by the law stating that senior state employees must resign from their positions 100 days before taking part in an election.
