Eilat mayor: 10% of Eilat residents are 'infiltrators'

Eilat residents began a struggle against the "infiltration" of African migrants, Israel Radio reported. Across the streets of the city hang 1,500 red flags that warn of the future occupation of the Eilat by these foreign "infiltrators," and residents were requested to hang red ribbons from their vehicles. Mayor Meir Yithak Halevi said that eleven percent of Eilat residents are foreign migrants from Africa. He added that residents of his city are frightened that these African "infiltrators" are occupying their home.
The mayor emphasized that there is no racist struggle amongst the cities residents. He added that only two percent of the migrants to Israel are refugees. According to him, the rest of the migrants were not chased out of their homelands, and did not experience the events that occurred in Darfur.
