Fatah, Hamas free prisoners detained in tit-for-tat arrests

A Hamas official on Thursday said two men detained in tit-for-tat arrests by the Palestinian rival factions Hamas and Fatah have been released.
The Fatah-led Palestinian Authority had arrested a Hamas official in the West Bank, which it controls. Hamas forces picked up a Fatah leader in Gaza, which is ruled by the Islamic group.
West Bank Hamas leader Nasser Shaer said Thursday that both men had been released.
It was unclear what had provoked the arrests.
