Finance c'tee approves NIS 300m for Olim, elderly, and children

The Knesset Finance Committee on Monday approved the transfer of NIS 300 million to ministry of immigrant absorption, primarily aimed at creating housing for elderly Olim.
About NIS 260 million will go toward the mission of developing housing for elderly immigrants, which already had NIS 471.9 million budgeted.
Another NIS 15 million will go toward aiding immigrants from countries such as Belgium, France, and Ukraine, who have been coming to Israel in larger numbers in recent years, in starting their own businesses.
Specifically, it will fund more Hebrew-learning, events to help with absorption at the community level, job fairs, and seminars for new immigrants getting into business.
It will also be put toward improving aliya information centers globally.
Another NIS five million will go toward lone soldiers in the IDF, and NIS eight million toward implementing the government decision to allow aliya from the Bnei Menashe tribe in India.
