Foreign Ministry: 3 Israelis stranded in Samoa unharmed by tsunami

Three Israelis who contacted the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, requesting assistance in leaving Samoa, were in good health, officials said. Initial reports had stated that no Israelis were affected by the large-scale tsunami which hit the South Pacific island Tuesday. The three travelers, in their 60s, contacted the Foreign Ministry officials and assured them they were not injured or harmed in the disaster. The ministry stated that it was looking into ways of rescuing the travelers, who had survived the disaster by seeking shelter on a hill.
