Gamzu: Health Ministry worried over doctors' strike

Director-General of the Health Ministry Roni Gamzu on Monday said substantial damage has been caused due to continued sanctions by doctors and that the Health Ministry is very concerned over the situation, Israel Radio reported.
Gamzu called on doctors and the Finance Ministry to conclude their negotiations immediately.
He also commented on the anti-smoking recommendations approved by the government Sunday, praising the proposed increase in taxes on tobacco products.
Doctors were expected to continue their strike on Monday in northern hospitals.
Israel Radio reported that the strike will continue on Tuesday in hospitals in Jerusalem and in the south, and on Wednesday in hospitals in the center of the country.
