Greek government leaders meet US Jewish groups

ATHENS, Greece — Greece's prime minister and five cabinet ministers were set to attend meeting with a group of American Jewish leaders as Athens seeks to improve ties with Israel for a broad range of cooperation projects.
Prime Minister George Papandreou's ministers of foreign affairs, investment, public order, tourism and defense began meetings Thursday with a delegation from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations who are in Greece. The ministerial meetings were closed to the media.
Officials in Israel and crisis-hit Greece say the two countries are in preliminary talks on potential energy deals involving Israeli offshore natural gas deposits.
