Haniyeh in Khartoum: J'lem will remain Arab, Muslim

Hamas Prime Minister said that Jerusalem will remain "Arab and Muslim" upon his arrival at the Sudanese capital Khartoum, Jordanian newspaper As-Sabeel reported Wednesday.
Hanieyh arrived in Khartoum Tuesday evening and was greeted at the airport by Sudanese President Ibrahim Ahmed Amr, Information Minister Kamarl Obeid as well as other high-level Sudanese officials.
According to the Hamas prime minister, the purpose of the visit to Sudan was to participate in the "Jerusalem Forum" in order to push the issue of stopping the "Judaization of Jerusalem" by Israel.
Haniyeh's stay in Khartoum followed a stint in Egypt where he met with officials from fellow Islamist group Muslim Brotherhood. In Cairo, Haniyeh made a similar pledge about Jerusalem, and warned that Israel was trying to "ethnically cleanse" the city.
Haniyeh is on his first tour of Middle Eastern nations since 2007, after Hamas was elected to power and gained control of the Gaza Strip.
