Hof HaCarmel, Caesarea beaches closed over pollution

Bathing is prohibited until further notice at two more beaches due to pollution – Caesarea’s Aqueduct  beach and both the central and southern portions of the Dor beaches in Hof HaCarmel – the Interior Ministry announced on Sunday. These shutdowns come only three weeks after similar problems closed two popular beaches in Tel Aviv.
In the Environmental Protection Ministry’s initial May results of its Blue-Green Flag campaign, which ranks qualities of the nation’s beaches, the Dor beaches overall achieved relatively low marks, while the Caesarea beach was not included in the listings.
