Israel signs first int'l agreement with S. Sudan, on water

In the first official international agreement to occur between South Sudan and Israel, a manufacturer signed a pact to cooperate on water infrastructure and technology development with the new north African country in the Knesset on Monday.
"We see this as a privilege to be the first to sign an agreement with the new state," said Energy and Water Ministry Uzi Landau. "We will continue to do everything possible in order to assist you. You are among friends."
The agreement outlined plans for cooperation between the two countries on desalination, irrigation, water transport and water purification, according to the Energy and Water Ministry.
