Jewish Agency: 1000 new olim arrive this week

Jewish Agency has announced that 23 flights will land this week with about 1000 new olim from around the world, Israel Radio reported Sunday.

The new olim consist of 550 from France, 100 from Britain, 60 from South Africa and 170 from South America.

Jewish Agency Chairman Natan Sharansky welcomed the new olim explaining that it is important to recognize that our brethren in the Jewish world not only support us, but also choose to join us and immigrate to Israel at a time when the state faces much delegitimization around the world.
