Jewish religious representation to be established in Algeria

Senior Algerian politician Abdelaziz Belkhadem confirmed that his government has approved the establishment of a Jewish religious representation in the country, Israel Radio reported on Sunday. In an interview with a newspaper in Qatar, Belkhadem stressed that the operation of Jewish groups did not indicate that Algeria was beginning to normalize relations with the State of Israel. The Algerian minister reportedly explained that the Jewish citizens of Algeria had a natural right to enjoy the activity of Jewish organizations.
