Katz rejects Herschkowitz's offer for 'Religious Zionism political merger'

Katz rejects Herschkowit

National Union chairman Ya'akov Katz on Thursday night rejected a proposal by Habayit Hayehudi leader Prof. Daniel Herschkowitz for a merger, saying his party was busy working to overturn the "racist decree against 300,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria" to freeze settlement construction. Herschkowitz had proposed a "political merger in the Religious Zionist movement" in order to present a stronger front - in particular against Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's decision to impose the ten-month moratorium. Katz, however, stressed that the struggle against the government's decision took precedence over any political move. "Once we succeed in canceling Netanyahu's evil edict, the faction will convene to discuss Professor Herschkowitz's request," he stated.
