Livni: Haredim are really getting a five year budget

Head of Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni said on Monday "In the past few days we've heard from the prime ministers office dramatic headlines, statements of 'enlistment of Haredim,' and 'limitations of stipends for the first time in the history of the state of Israel.'"
Livini attacked the PMO in her remarks at the leadership forum of the National union of Israeli students.
"The story that they tried to create around the government decision is a lie that is meant to garner the support of the Haredim on the budget- the Haredim abstained from voting, the abstention's real significance is that they are in favor- they wanted the decision to pass and they are doing everything in their power so that it passes.  What is really happening for the first time, is that instead of giving them a yearly budget, they are receiving a budget for five years.  In other words, an increase in their budget."
Livni added "I believe that the key to a coexistent life here, needs to come from a contribution of everyone to society- either army service, or national service, or civil service- and that is accurate also for relations with Arabs and in relations with Haredim."
