Man indicted for attempted murder in J'lem rail stabbing

The Jerusalem District attorney filed an indictment in the Jerusalem District Court on Thursday, charging an 18-year-old east Jerusalem man with attempted murder after stabbing a soldier on the capital's light train network earlier this month.
Mohammed Shoma'an from the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina was also charged with possession of a knife and obstruction of justice.
The soldier, aged 19, was stabbed several times in the upper body while traveling to her base on the Jerusalem light train on March 15. She was transferred in a serious condition to the Shaare Zedek hospital. She was released from the hospital last Thursday.
