Undercover police from the Jezreel Valley district found a pistol and a kilogram of marijuana along with thirty species of protected birds during a raid on a house in the town of Ilania on Monday. Police said they were not sure if the suspect was planning on selling the birds, which included 15 canaries and 15 goldfinches. "We have no idea what he was planning on doing with those birds" an investigator told the Jerusalem Post Monday. Also Monday, undercover police found two kilograms of marijuana and supplies for cultivating and selling the drug, during a raid on a Tel Aviv apartment. Police say the equipment included soil, fertilizer, pots, and electronic scales.
