Masked gunmen storm Mount Sinai power station

Five masked gunmen on Friday stormed a power station located at Mount Sinai, Egypt Independent reported, causing power outages in the surrounding area for hours.
According to the report, citing Mahmoud Hefnawy, director of Egypt's South Sinai Security Directorate, the gunmen were heavily armed with automatic weapons.
Egyptian authorities were called upon to heighten security at the station following a similar incident in February; however, the power plant has gone unguarded since.
Mount Sinai, or Mount Horeb, is the traditional and most accepted identification of the Biblical Mount Sinai, where Moses is believed to have received the Ten Commandments.
