Ministry: Deportation of S. Sudanese 'in near future'

An Interior Ministry spokeswoman, Sabine Haddad, said on Thursday that there had been no round-ups of South Sudanese migrants yet, but that the 1,500-strong population would be processed for deportation "in the near future."
Another official said Israel had assigned 11 clerks to vet any refugee claims, many of which could be complicated by some applicants' lack of documentation. The official predicted that processing of the South Sudanese would take several weeks.
