Police fire tear gas on Tunisia protesters

TUNIS, Tunisia  — Riot police have fired tear gas to disperse about 200 protesters marching in Tunisia's capital to protest the selection of a new government that includes many members of the old guard.
As police helicopters circled overhead, riot police lobbed tear gas Tuesday to scatter the protesters as they marched toward the Interior Ministry — many in the crowd coughing, sputtering and tearing up.
Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi on Monday announced a new government made up mostly of the old guard, but including opposition leaders for the first time.
The country has suffered simmering unrest, looting and an apparent settling-of-scores after President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali fled Friday while facing huge protests.
