It appeared as though the crisis of the Pri Hagalil factory had come to an end Monday night. Factory owner Oshik Efraim spoke with Knesset Finance Committee Chairman Moshe Gafni and told him that the factory gates would open on Tuesday morning in light of the progress made in negotiations with state officials.
In an attempt to reach a final agreement toward reinstating the factory, workers union chairman Moti Haziz was meeting Monday night with Efraim, Economics committee chairman Carmel Shama Hacohen, Ministry of Trade and Labor officials and Finance Ministry official. The owners of Pri Hagalil closed the factory on Friday claiming that it was not profitable to keep it open. The closure put 300 employees out of work in the Northern town of Hatzur Hagalil.
