Prince fans hold vigils after singer's death

Fans of US superstar Prince paying tribute to the musician across the United States, on Thursday, as news of his death quickly spread.
The innovative pop superstar, whose songwriting and eccentric stage presence electrified fans around the world with hits including "Purple Rain" and "When Doves Cry," died at the complex, which included his home.
Fans of the famous singer were paying tribute dancing and singing in Chicago as New York filmmaker Spike Lee launched a dancing party named "PRINCE We Love You Shockadelica Joint" to celebrate Prince's life, NBC reported.
Outside the First Avenue nightclub in downtown Minneapolis, devotees placed photographs of the artist, a guitar and at least two dozen bouquets of flowers, many of them purple. "We love you Prince!" read a sign attached to one of the bouquets.
The location featured in Prince's movie, "Purple Rain."
