Prosecutors recommend A-G put Rabbi Motti Elon on trial

Jerusalem District Prosecutors on Tuesday recommended that Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein put Rabbi Mordechai (Motti) Elon on trial for carrying out indecent acts on two minors.

The prosecutors passed on the recommendation to Weinstein after having come to the conclusion that the Police's opinion that Elon should be tried was correct. The police investigation into allegations made against Alon were completed in August.

Weinstein is expected to come to a decision on the issue in the coming days, Channel 10 reported.

Allegations of inappropriate behavior were first made against Elon by the Takana forum in Febraury of last year. Takana is a rabbinical forum that works to prevent sexual harassment in the national-religious sector.
