Public Diplomacy Ministry fades away

The Ministry of Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs is no more.

The cabinet on Sunday decided to fold the ministry, and create in its stead the Ministry of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs, to be headed by Economy and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett.

The public diplomacy elements of the ministry, such as responsibility for the Government Press Office, will be transferred back to the Prime Minister's Office. Current Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein headed this ministry in the last government.
