Report: Arab League defers 'Conference on defending J'lem'

The Arab League said Tuesday it would indefinitely postpone the first annual "Conference on defending Jerusalem" scheduled to be begin in Qatar the same day due to the precarious situation in Egypt and some other Arab countries, the official Chinese news agency Xinhua reported. Mohammed Soubie, assistant of the Arab League general secretary, announced the postponement in a statement after a series of consultations between the emirate and the Arab bloc.
The inaugural two-day event was scheduled for the Sheraton Hotel in Doha. Delegates to last year’s Arab Summit in Libya elected to hold an annual international conference including Arab and foreign countries and civil institutions to discuss defending Jerusalem “against Israeli violation at all levels.”
