Report: French PM calls on UN to condemn Syrian crackdown

French Prime Minister Francois Fillon on Tuesday called on the United Nations to condemn Syrian President Bashar Assad's crackdown on protesters by army forces, AFP reported Tuesday.
Speaking a press conference with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, Fillon was quoted as saying, "The UN Security Council cannot remain silent for much longer. The time has come when everyone will have to face up to their responsibilities."
