The US is currently drafting a plan to encourage progress in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, Pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat reported on Friday.
If approved, the plan would call for peace talks to be renewed at the stage in which borders would be determined, possibly in order to circumnavigate the issue of settlement construction.
According to the report, the plan was conceived by top American diplomatic experts, among them US Middle East envoy George Mitchell and Dennis Ross, a well-known political figure who currently serves as Persian Gulf and Southwest Asia advisor to US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
