In a rare decision, the Supreme Court on Monday acquitted a deceased man of murder. The justices accepted an appeal filed by the family of Yoni Elzam, who was poisoned to death in his prison cell four years ago. Elzam had been serving a life sentence after he was found guilty of murdering Hanania Ohana.
The court stated that the main argument for accepting the appeal was the fact that the admissions extracted from him were not legally sufficient to base the murder case on.
