Trump attacks Bill Clinton over abuse of women, says Hillary would be in jail if he were in charge

WATCH LIVE: Donald Trump attacked former President Bill Clinton on Sunday night. "Mine were words. Bill Clinton was action - no one in history as abusive to women," he said. Four of Bill Clinton's accusers met and endorsed Trump before the debate.

The two candidates traded numerous barbs in the opening phases of the debate, with Trump promising a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary Clinton's actions as Secretary of State.

As the event quickly descends into somewhat of a farce, the rhetoric loses any veneer of respectability. "It's good that someone of Donald Trump's temperament is not in charge of law in this country," Clinton remarked.

"You'd be in jail," he replied.
