US Under Secretary meets GCC ambassadors on Iran talks

US Under Secretary of State Wendy Sherman met Wednesday with ambassadors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to discuss the status of P5+1 talks with Iran.In a press release, Sherman stated that during the meeting she "underscored [the US's] commitment to preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and reaffirmed the United States’ interest in ensuring regional security."Sherman also stressed the need to maintain sanctions on Iran even as negotiations are ongoing.
