Water Authority Council: Reduce water prices

After a year in which water prices increased 32 percent, this year water prices will decrease just a bit. The Water Authority Council decided Thursday to expand the number of cubic meters per person that fall under the lower tariff rate from 2.5 to 3.5, with a minimum of seven cubic meters per apartment. The lower rate is NIS 8.63 per cubic meter for water and sewage services.

What that means is that water bills for families that conserve water will go down since more of their use will be covered under the lower tariff.

At the same time, the council approved raising the tariff rate on the cubic meters consumed after the first 3.5 per person to NIS 13.70, up from NIS 12.48.
