Dalia Energy Ltd. received a license to establish a power station and produce 500 megaWatt to 800 mW of electricity, in a project valued at about $220 million, the company said Wednesday. The move is a result of government policy to open Israel's electricity market to competition. Dalia Energy is owned equally by Hiram Epsilon Ltd. and the Kibbutz Movement's inputs organization. The power station - to be fueled by natural gas - will be built at Kibbutz Ma'ayan Zvi, at the foot of the Carmel range near Nahal Dalia.
