Households spend more on services

Average monthly spending on consumer services is set to increase to NIS 4,500, or 38 percent of average household spending in 2006, according to estimates by the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce released Monday. The report showed that the demand for services by households increased 27 percent over the past five years. Average monthly spending on services stands at NIS 4,000 of which 16% is spent on education, another 16% on transport, 14% on tourism, 13% on culture and entertainment and 11% on health services, among other services.
