Yehuda Nasradishi, head of professional administration at the Israel Tax Authority, will assume Dr. Yossi Bachar's post as interim director of the Israel Tax Authority beginning Sunday. "On the recommendation of Bachar and the Finance Ministry's director general, Nasradishi will act as temporary director of the Israel Tax Authority from Sunday until permanent placement will be announced," the Finance Ministry told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday. After finishing his tenure as the Finance Ministry's director general, Bachar agreed at the beginning of January to act as interim Tax Authority director for a limited three-month term in place of Jackie Matza, who had been arrested in connection with a tax corruption scandal. Than tenure expires April 6. During his time in the office, Bachar appointed Nasradishi as acting head of organization, resources and technology directorate at the Tax Authority, which led to his consideration as the number two person at the authority. Matza, meanwhile, had announced his resignation to enable the appointment of a new permanent director Authority. In mid-February, Finance Minister Avraham Hirchson ordered Yarom Ariav, the Finance Ministry's director general, to establish and chair a search committee to recommend a new permanent Tax Authority director. Final applications for the position were expected to arrive over the next few days after which the search committee plans to reconvene by the end of the month to recommend a suitable candidate.
