Settlers attack Palestinians near Har Bracha

Settlers attacked Palestinians in response to the demolition of two structures in the outpost of Givat Ronen near the settlement of Har Bracha in northern Samaria Monday morning.
In response, the settlers allegedly set a field on fire by the Palestinian village of Hawarrah, south of Nablus, prompting the IDF to close the road leading to the village to Palestinian traffic, fearing additional reprisal attacks by settlers on Palestinians in the area.
In recent years some radical settlers have instituted a policy called 'price tag' under which every army action or Palestinian attack against them is met with a retaliatory attack against Palestinians.
Shortly later, settlers near Har Bracha started stoning Palestinians. IDF troops at the scene dispersed the participants and ended the confrontation.
Civil Authority head Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai was in touch with his Palestinian counterpart to try to ease tensions and prevent an escalation in the violence.
