Netanyahu's comments came after he convened a security cabinet meeting at the IDF Gaza Division headquarters to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip.
The violence on Friday night comes as the IDF prepares for thousands of Palestinians to violently riot across the fence to mark Land Day.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum warned Israel against carrying out any “foolish” acts against the Gaza Strip. He said that the cost of such any military operation will “exceed Israel’s estimates.”
An ambulance was also hit with gas bombs in eastern Gaza, wounding six paramedics, the Hamas-affiliated Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
A rocket war with Gaza would cost Israel billions of dollars but relatively few civilian lives.
The weekend saw a violent flareup in Gaza and the surrounding border communities, as 37 rockets were fired at Israel, which responded by hitting more than 80 Hamas terror targets.
Netanyahu told the families “there would be no arrangement in the Gaza Strip without the return of the boys.”
The Israeli offers are part of US President Donald Trump’s yet-to-be-unveiled plan for peace in the Middle East.
