Jon Stewart is a Jewish-American comedian and host of the popular Comedy Central satirical news program and late-night talk show The Daily Show.
Stewart took over the show as host in 1999, replacing the inaugural host Craig Kilborn, and would helm the show until August 2015. He returned to the show as host on February 12, 2024, to start hosting on Monday nights.
Stewart compared America's criticism of Israel to advice to an addict from his drug dealer, and called on Israel to cease fire, and Hamas to release hostages, "without preconditions."
The comedian invoked “Israel’s incessant bombing of civilians” in between jokes about the 2024 presidential candidates’ age.
