Taglit-Birthright Israel ran the newspaper's front page to honor the 290,000 people who attended the event.

One of the organizers of the event said on stage that “antisemitic bus drivers refused to drive participants to the rally.”

Dozens of people who spoke with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency mentioned their support for Israel when they described what they hoped to hear at the rally.

Over 200,000 Jews at the National Mall in DC gathered to hear from a range of speakers, including survivors of the Oct. 7 Hamas massacres that launched the current Israel-Hamas war.

"In the State of Israel’s darkest moment you stood up and declared: Hineini, I am here. We are here. There is no greater and more just cause than this,” President Herzog said.

Tuesday’s march, organized by a big tent of pro-Israel and Jewish groups, is expected to draw crowds in the tens of thousands.

This rally is a response to the recent surge in antisemitic incidents in the US, particularly following the tragic events of October 7.

"Organized in the wake of the deadliest attack on Israel since the Holocaust, this march aims to unify American voices in support of Israel and to take a firm stand against terror," a statement said.

The visit comes as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been waiting for a date to meet with US President Joe Biden.

On the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington, the Black-Jewish alliance must maintain its vigilance.
