Beersheba: Teenage Palestinian arrested for plotting stabbing attack

Beersheba police arrested a teenage Palestinian on Wednesday they say was en route to carry out a terror attack in Jerusalem.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Negev subdistrict police said that the parents of a 15-year-old girl living in Beersheba reported that she had gone missing, after she had sent them a text message saying that they “would soon hear about her on the news”.
The Negev police said officers then began combing the city until they found the girl at the North Beersheba train station, where she was arrested.
Under questioning, the girl confessed that she was on her way to Jerusalem, where “said she planned on stabbing Jews, soldiers, and the police”, according to the Negev subdistrict spokesperson.
The teenager is a Palestinian originally from the West Bank who moved to Beersheba with her family a few years earlier.
On Thursday, she was taken for a remand hearing at the Beersheba Magistrate’s Court, where she was ordered kept in the custody of juvenile authorities for two days.
