IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz said on Monday that the IDF is ready for any threat.

Speaking at an event marking the anniversary of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination, Gantz said that while the current threats Israel faces are different to threats Rabin faced as chief of staff, they are closer to being realized than ever before.

"The IDF is required to be at the very highest state of alert facing the different challenges posed to the State of Israel," Gantz said.

"But I know, as Rabin knew, that the IDF is more ready than ever before facing these threats," the chief of staff added.
